A strong work ethic and positive attitude have seen Samantha Perry from Ferndale win the Apprentice/Trainee of the Year prize at the 2009 Central TAFE Awards.
Samantha successfully completed a Certificate III in Financial Services (Accounts Clerical) and a traineeship with boutique wealth management company Plan B.
A highly respected employee, Samantha showed great skill in balancing her study requirements with the needs of the workplace.
Samantha edged out fellow nominees Courtney Grahame and Lauren Grohovaz, who both completed traineeships in Beauty Therapy.
The Minister for Training, the Hon Peter Collier presented Samantha with her award at a gala event at the Government House Ballroom on tonight.
The annual event officially recognises, rewards and promotes student and staff excellence at one WA’s largest training organisations.
It’s not all work and no play for Samantha, who has helped in fundraising for Como Senior High School’s World Challenge trip to Vietnam.
She is also keen on sports, having regularly competed in volleyball and softball competitions.
Currently studying a Certificate IV in Financial Services (Accounting), Samantha hopes to complete a Diploma in Accounting at Central TAFE before going to university and reaching her goal of becoming an accountant.
