However, we are more than happy to help you to write your own! Workshops on Resume Writing Skills and other employability skills training are available online. Related guides and templates are also available online.
Unfortunately, we don’t have the resources to constantly check students resumes. You may wish to ask you lecturer if they could check it for you or alterntaively, you can go to the Career Development Centre in the city and ask them to help you.
We have Career Counsellors who can provide you with general information about the various courses. However this information can be found on both the Central TAFE website or the TAFEWA website. If you would like more specific information about your course, including unit details, workload, support, etc, please phone the Central TAFE call centre on 1300 300 822 and ask to speak to the Learning Portfolio Administrator for your course area.
Yes! JobsCentral has an online database of job vacancies. You can apply for these jobs by registering with us. Alternatively, you are welcome to come in to the JobsCentral office to use the internet to search other job websites or to read the West Australian newspaper. If you continue to have difficulty finding work or are unsure what type of work you would be suited to, you can make an appointment to see a Career Counsellor.
JobsCentral can help YOU find your OWN work experience! We have a work experience handout for you to read or if you are unsure about the type of work experience you should look for, you can make an appointment with a Career Counsellor.
Yes! We can provide you with an Interview Techniques handout or you can access one of our on-line workshops on How to Prepare for a Job Interview. If you are REALLY nervous and would like to speak to someone more in depth, you can make an appointment to see a Career Counsellor.
JobsCentral provides a number of FREE services for current Central TAFE students and graduates of up to 12 months including:

The main JobsCentral office is located in the Student Wellbeing Centre which is at the Perth Campus, Level 2, Room N222, (near the Aberdeen street entrance).

You will need access to the internet. Jobscentral has computers available for students to use during opening hours. You will need your student ID number and Password then you can register by going through the following:
- Go to the Central TAFE website at www.centraltafe.wa.edu.au
- Click on the Student Portal Login
- Select Login from the menu located on the left hand side of the screen
- Type in your username (student ID with prefix 04)
- Type in your password (your date of birth eg ddmmyyyy)
- Select Enter
- Go to Career Possibilities from the top menu and select Jobnet from the drop down.
- Select Register/Modify your details from the menu located on the left hand side of the screen.
- After reading through the terms and conditions, click on Accept and then Next
- Complete the registration screen. Make sure select YES for Register with Jobscentral?
- Make sure all mandatory fields containing red arrows are completed
- Click save when complete

Some. Each of the universities provide us with their current course prospectus. You can come in anytime to read through them. Alternatively you can go straight to the individual university websites . If you would like information about pathways from TAFE into particular University courses, then you will need to contact the university directly. If you would like to have a general chat about each of the different universities as well as other training providers, please phone 9427 1893 to make an appointment with a Central TAFE Careers Counsellor.
Central TAFE does not normally organise Apprenticeships or Traineeships for students. However we do have staff who can provide you with information and assistance on Apprenticeships and Traineeships that can be completed at Central TAFE. Contact the Traineeships, Apprenticeships & Workplace Training team on 6211 2111.

To search for the vacancies you need to Log in to the Student Portal via the Central TAFE website then:
- From the Career Possibilities menu at the top, select Jobnet
- Click on Search for Vacancies from the menu on the left hand side of the screen. The Vacancy Search screen will appear.
- Enter the vacancy number (4 digits) and the vacancy title will appear. To access further details about the vacancy, click on the vacancy title.
- If you do not know the vacancy number, or would simply like to browse all the job vacancies, then leave the fields blank and click the Search button.
- Once you have found a job you would like to apply for
- Send an email from you own email account to: jobscentral@central.wa.edu.au
- Type in your name
- Type in the vacancy number and the position title in the subject line
- Attach your cover letter and up to date resume

You need to have at least basic computing skills in order to use the Jobscentral online jobs database. This is so that not only can you register yourself, but you can search the job vacancies, access your email and type up your resume and/or cover letter.
If it has been at least five working days since you sent your email to us then feel free to phone our Job Placement Coordinator during opening hours on 9427 1969. We can phone or email the employer directly to make sure they received your application and clarify whether or not they are interested in interviewing you.
