Access and equity support services

At Central Institute of Technology we are committed to providing a fully accessible learning environment.  This includes buildings and structures as well as teaching learning and assessment strategies.

The Access and Equity support services Staff provide services to ensure that students with a disability meet their vocational education and training goals.

As each student and their circumstances are individual, so also are the supports and accommodations that are put in place.  Some examples of the kinds of support offered are:

  • alternate methods of assessment and examination
  • consultation about realistic vocational choices
  • audio and large print resources
  • interpreting and note-taking
  • organising adaptive technology.

On enrolment, it is advisable for students with a disability to contact the Disability Services Co-ordinator to ensure that the most appropriate support can be put in place in a timely manner.

The Disability Services Co-ordinator Judith Gillies is located at our Perth campus and can be contacted on 9427 1349.
