Studying Science at Central TAFE could find you working in a range of dynamic industries including biomedical, pharmaceutical, mining, agriculture, petroleum, medical, physics, environmental, forensic, food, cosmetic or chemical. We offer a Biomedical laboratory based stream or Chemical laboratory based stream. The Biomedical stream provides broad-based scientific training as well as specialist biological laboratory skills across a variety of sectors. Biotechnology and medical science are exciting and rapidly expanding disciplines offering a range of opportunities for skilled graduates. Choosing the Chemical laboratory stream, you will develop core laboratory skills that underpin safe and well planned chemical based laboratory work with the Diploma delivering additional training in instrumental techniques, gold assaying, environment and food analysis. Graduates of this stream work in mining and metallurgical research laboratories, environment and food laboratories, drug testing and forensic science, pathology and research laboratories.
