Optical Dispensers have a hands-on role interpreting the prescriptions of eye specialists and fitting and assembling eyewear. They also perform retail duties working with customers, assisting them to select frames suitable to their lifestyles and faces.
During your studies, you’ll not only develop your knowledge of eye physiology and lens theory you’ll also develop practical skills such as fitting and edging in an operating optical dispensary. This course also places emphasis on the interpersonal aspects of a dispenser’s role and covers skills in retail marketing and small business management.
