About This Course

This qualification will further develop your practical skills and knowledge in the design and drafting of engineering plans to Australian and New Zealand standards. You will learn about different areas in Civil Engineering, including construction, project management, design and testing. Subjects include those covered in the Diploma of Civil and Structural Engineering plus you will learn about the design and drafting of concrete, steel, roads and pipes as well as storm drainage and foundations.



Course Duration

Two years (4 semesters) full time.  Approximately 20 years a week or equivalent part-time.

Specific Job Opportunities for Our Students

The Advanced Diploma course provides the skills for employment as engineering technologists in Civil, Structural or Environmental Engineering or Environmental Management.  Graduates would be expected to work as part of a team or independently, solving problems and writing reports.  Employment opportunities exist in the Engineering branch of various State and Commonwealth Government departments and authorities, local government and private engineering and mining companies.


Further Study Options

Graduates may be eleigible for entry into second year of Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Engineering at Curtin University.


Fees & Charges

DOMESTIC STUDENTS:
Domestic students are required to pay Course and Resource fees
Course Fees - maximum course fees for 2009 are $570.00 (or $285.00 concession) per semester.   
Resource Fees - cover the cost of any materials & resources provided by the college and will vary depending on the content of the course.

Payment options may be available for those experiencing financial hardship, please ask when you enrol.
Please note: Access & Bridging Programs have a course fee of $25.00 as well as any resource fees.

INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS:
International Student course fees are available here.

Students may also need to purchase textbooks, equipment or materials.
Different fees apply to Fee For Service training.
