Federal Ministers go underground at Central
Minister for Employment and Workplace Relations Bill Shorten MP, used Central’s mining training tunnel as a backdrop for a press statement on the need for employers to innovate if they are to flourish.
Central’s CUT Mine, used by mining companies as an innovative training and induction tool, was an ideal illustration for his message of the necessity for employers to think differently and adapt as the employment world continues to evolve.
Mr Shorten was joined for a tour of the CUT Mine by Special Minister of State and Minister for the Public Service and Integrity, Mr Gary Gray.
Local member for the seat of Brand, Mr Gray teamed up with his cabinet colleague to be shown round Central’s unique training facility by Mining lecturer Charles Dornan.
Central’s Certificate IV in Screen and Media (Radio) students were watching Mr Shorten’s media doorstop and were lucky enough to interview the Federal Minister, tipped by many to be the next leader of the Labour Party. A perfect illustration of Central’s training using real world experience in order to get our graduates ‘job ready’!
