Services for Students

How to Join
All students enrolled at Central TAFE are eligible to join the Library.   If you wish to get a Library card (without a photo) please bring along your enrolment form endorsed with your fee receipt to the Library.

If you want a combined Student ID, photocopy and print card (with your photo), this is organised through the Perth Bookshop.  The cost is $5.50.  Go to the Library to activate your library membership and obtain your valid student 2009 sticker.

Loans
You are entitled to borrow a total of 8 items at any one time, generally for a period of 4 weeks. However, some items in high demand may have restricted borrowing periods.

Renewals
Most items may be renewed once, provided they are not overdue or required by other borrowers. This may be done over the phone, via the Library Catalogue or at the Service Desk.

Returns
Library resources are in high demand and late returns cause problems for other patrons. Borrowed items should be returned on or before their due date. Patrons who fail to return overdue items may be prevented from further borrowing.

It is the responsibility of patrons to ensure all items are returned in good condition. Patrons will be invoiced for lost or damaged items.

Interlibrary Loans
If an item is not available at the Library, you may request an interlibrary loan from another library. Central TAFE students may request up to 5 free interlibrary loans each semester providing they are course related.

Reciprocal Borrowing Rights
Central TAFE students are entitled to borrow library items from most other TAFE Colleges, plus Murdoch, Edith Cowan and Notre Dame Universities. Present your current Central TAFE library card and enrolment form at the institution of your choice. The conditions of use may vary depending on the agreement, so please check before you borrow.
