Enjoy our unique WA lifestyle

Take a tour of Perth with James, a current international student.

Perth and Western Australia will give you an unforgettable Australian study experience.

With a vast expanse of diverse landscapes, unspoilt beaches, 350-million-year-old mountain ranges and Karri tree forests, Western Australia is a place to explore.  While you study you will stay in the vibrant capital city of Perth and experience more sunny days per year than any other Australian capital city.

Outdoor life

Away from your studies experience the spectacular outdoors and scenery that Western Australia offers :
  • swim and surf at pristine beaches
  • swim with the dolphins in Monkey Mia
  • snorkel and dive in the spectacular Ningaloo reef
  • parasail on the 22 kilometre Cable Beach in Broome
  • hike and bush walk in the Karri forests .
  • camp, swim and walk in the old Bungle Bungle ranges
  • taste the wines and food in Margaret River.

Transport and city life

Back in Perth you can use the excellent transport system - trains, buses and ferries -to attend popular cultural and outdoor festivals, art and cultural activities and to visit restaurants, bars, cafes and markets.

As a student at Central, you will be entitled to student concession transport rates.

Costs and work

Perth traditionally has one of the lowest costs of living of any Australian capital city.

As an International student you may still need some extra money to support yourself and Perth is the ideal city to earn money. Western Australia has the lowest unemployment rate in the country, so finding a job and working your 20 hours a week should not be a problem.
