International student support
Central is committed to supporting international students during their studies, from the moment you arrive through to graduation. We aim to ensure your experience here is enjoyable and rewarding.
Before commencing your course, you will attend an International Student Orientation day to introduce you to Central and all the support services available. Once your course starts there are several different areas who can offer you assistance.
International Centre
Central has a dedicated International Centre focused entirely on the personal and academic needs and general wellbeing of our international students. Services include English language support, student advisors, and counselling. Once you are enrolled you will have an International Student Advisor available to you, whose responsibility is to assist you with any academic issues.
The Centre also provide International Student Counsellors - registered psychologists who are trained to effectively help with problems international students sometimes experience. Some of our international students face feelings of social anxiety (or shyness), loneliness, homesickness or feelings of depression and not being able to cope. The counsellors can assist by teaching specific skills and providing practical assistance.

Student administration support
Student Services can assist with processing enrolments, issuing timetables, providing course information, and providing general information on Central Institute of Technology services and facilities. Each campus has a Student Services centre.
A safe and secure environment
At Central your safety is important to us, both on campus and off.
While Perth is generally a safe place to live, we understand that being in a new city may be daunting, and so we have put in place measures to make sure your stay with us is trouble-free.
On campus, security guards, cameras and free emergency telephones make sure help is readily available if you need it. We also provide safety briefings and pocket guides for personal, home and travel safety when you’re away from the campus.
Our student advisors are available to give you ongoing support and advice during your stay and when you’re out and about, the Western Australian Police are very approachable and will readily offer their assistance.
