Future Students

Industry Relevancy

Through the strong alliances Central Institute of Technology has established with industry, you are guaranteed up-to-date
relevant training with some courses providing you with the opportunity to learn in a real work environment.

Central's training is designed in consultation with industry so that our qualifications are practical and relevant and our units of learning are job-focused and driven by employment outcomes

Industry focused teaching environments

Our teaching environments are specially designed to allow students to gain hands-on experience before undertaking employment in their relevant industries. Take for example,

  • Leederville campus'  industry standard professional recording studio and live performance venue with full staging, lighting and sound production.

  • Perth campus 'CUT Mine’, a unique, simulated, underground tunnel environment created with our industry partners that is used to train mining students in the fundamentals of mine safety and face mapping. The CUT Mine gives a realistic introduction to the underground environment students will meet on their first day at an underground mine. There is no other facility like this anywhere in WA.

  • Nursing students at our Mt Lawley campus work with  a simulated patient, a dummy who is able to speak, replicate symptons and allow students to experience a realistic patient environment. Nursing students also take part in the REACH program, which allows students to undertake health checks within the community under the supervision of experienced qualified nurses.
