​Psychologist Services
Central recognises the importance of providing support services to students, both academically and in encouraging personal and social development.
Central's Psychologist Service is available to provide confidential, independent and professional assistance, FREE of charge to all Central students.
The Psychologist Service provides:
- personal counselling to assist the student to cope with general life problems
- advisory service to students
- referral service to appropriate external agencies where necessary
assessment to identify, diagnose and assist students with study and adaptation problems
- psychological assistance and/or trauma debriefing to those involved in critical incidents.
Number of Sessions
The service is designed to provide short-term assistance. Referral will be made for long-term clinical cases.
Referrals
This is a self-referral service, although in some cases Central staff members may refer with the student's agreement. Attendance is voluntary.

Monday to Friday: 8.00am - 4.30pm.
E-Counselling
Central Institute of Technology's E-Counselling is a free confidential online service providing students with support and advice on issues that may be affecting study and well-being.
