Information for Staff 

 

Ordering Publisher Textbooks
The Bookshop has two main ordering sessions in October and May each year, to ensure stock arrives for the beginning of semester.  It is important to submit your order early
 
Ordering does continue throughout the year based on academic demand.
 
Please be aware that if you would like to order the same textbooks as the previous semester, information must be reconfirmed.
place an order for each semester.
 

The Bookshop returns unsold stock to the suppliers if possible. We are bound by supplier’s terms of trade conditions i.e.

  • a percentage of the yearly order
  • a percentage of an individual order
  • within specific timeframes
  • its resale viability
 
Please advise us as soon as possible of any amendments to your order. Suppliers must be notified immediately.
Goods being shipped from overseas can take 12 - 16 weeks (sea freight). Airfreighted items can attract up to a $10 per book extra charge and very effort is made to keep text books at the recommended retail price. Please place your order on time.

All orders must be submitted to the LPA for your portfolio. Bookshop staff can only accept orders from the LPA.
 
 

Ordering Printcell Publications

Bookshop requires the latest version to be available on Equella before ordering. If not available on Equella please email an electronic copy to Bookshop staff.
 
  • Academic staff place the order with their department LPA
  • Provide the link to the Equella location when ordering
  • LPA will submit the order to Bookshop
  • Bookshop will check stock levels and sales history before ordering quantities quoted
  • Quantity will be adjusted if necessary.
  • DO NOT place the order directly with Printcell.
 
The Department will be charged for unsold texts that may include the following reasons;
 
  • You did not run the course.
  • The text was not used by the academic area
  • The textbook was changed without suitable notice
  • A lecturer does not recommends against use of the prescribed text
  • Publication is updated after placing an order resulting in immediate obsolescence
  • The Dept orders directly from Printcell bypassing the Bookshops ability to interrogate sales activity and check stock levels beforehand
Departments will not be charged back for Printcell produced texts where the Bookshop has been at fault.
 
If you under order, the Bookshop will order through Printcell;
  • If stocks are low and we are aware more copies will be required
  • If we have no stock and receive requests from students
  • We will not seek approval from the LPA for the area, we will order as demand requires.

 

Unit Materials: i.e. lab coats, hygiene masks, gloves, calculators etc

While the Bookshop currently stocks various requirements, it would greatly assist us and students if you could advise of any specialty equipment or consumable type items, that may be required for various units. The Bookshop will endeavour to provide a one stop shop for the convenience of students.
