About the course

Classes primarily emphasise speaking and listening skills and focus on the development of practical competence in a variety of everyday situations. You are given every opportunity to develop your confidence and skills by participating in pair and group activities. Teachers are generally native speakers of the language taught.

On completion, you'll be able to communicate effectively in simple language in a wide variety of situations.

Where this course can lead you

Central's language short courses are ideal for those who are going overseas and wish to learn another language. You can communicate to locals and find employment in non-English speaking jobs. Our language courses also provide you with the opportunity for further study in one of our Applied Language Certificates.

Skills you will gain from this course

Central's language short courses aim to provide you with varying levels of skills in other languages as well as knowledge and general information on the countries in which it is spoken. On completion, you will be able to communicate effectively in basic Chinese Mandarin in a wide variety of situations. 

By the end of the course you will be able to:

• Practise Chinese Mandarin 

• Understand language structure in Chinese Mandarin

• Understand Chines Mandarin culture

Your course in Chinese Mandarin will give you the skills to communicate on a higher level with speakers of Chinese Mandarin or for further study at Central.
